The “New” Place

A few days ago we checked out the new Starbucks around the corner from us.  ”New” may not be the best word for the place, because it opened several months ago, but we didn’t step foot inside for the first time until the other day.  It was a little bitter-sweet walking in.  It used to be a Dunkin Donuts.  This was the place we met almost eight years ago and although it has turned into another chain coffee shop, everything about it is completely different…at least to us.  The large window in which we saw one another through for the first time has now been turned into a drive-thru.  The table where we sat for the first time together and spoke about college plans, is now where one might order their Vanilla Latte or Mocha Frappuccino.  Every year on the anniversary of when we met, we would head over to Dunkin Donuts and order the same drinks we ordered that night and laugh about what we said to one another.  It’s nice to know the place hasn’t been totally ripped down and turned into something completely unrecognizable.  We can still keep our anniversary tradition, have a place where we can go together, and reminisce about that night we met.

  1. This is so sweet! How wonderful that you can still revist the place where it all started. It sounds absolutely romantic to me!
